Canaria focuses on international development and corporate social responsibility. Previously, she worked as a UN volunteer in China and provided technical and managerial support for many grassroots organizations in various provinces. She researched a successful PLHIV organization and developed a report/manual for replicating their business model. She also worked with Save the Children UK to advocate for child rights/protection in Xinjiang. She’s experienced in participatory approaches including participatory management, child-led research and participatory workshops/trainings. She’s skilled in monitoring & evaluation and research techniques such as interviews, focus groups, surveys and data analysis. She holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and a BA in English Language and Literature from Peking University. She is fluent in Mandarin and has a working knowledge of several Central Asian languages.
